About
Us
Michele Stewart , Clare Stapleton, and Yasmine Wahab bring together
a collective depth and breadth to the Valhalla Counselling Practice.
We have special areas of interest and skills developed over years
of experience in a variety of settings, counselling people from
a diverse range of ages and back grounds. This includes counselling
people from a wide array of cultural backgrounds.
We aim for more than symptom relief. We hope to facilitate meaningful
change in our client’s lives. To support this we encourage
our clients to draw on a wide range of complementary health services
where appropriate. These include:
- 12 step programmes and other specific support groups
- Group therapy
- Relevant reading and home work tasks
- Consultations with other specialised medical practitioners
|
- Sound nutrition
- Exercise
- Yoga
- Meditation

Valhalla Counselling
Practice has a close association with The
Institute for Emotionally Focused Therapy, an accredited training
institution that provides post-graduate training in counselling
and therapy. Read more about Emotionally
Focused Therapy.
All practitioners working at Valhalla are registered with their
professional associations. This binds them to a strict code of ethical
practice.
Michele, Clare and Yasmine all conduct their own private practices
out of Valhalla Counselling Practice and set their own fees based
on the recommendations of their professional associations. Professional
fees can be discussed on enquiry.
Some private health funds will offer rebates capped at a fixed
amount per calendar year. The Australian Government has also introduced
Medicare rebated items for treatment by registered psychologists
and social workers. This requires a referral form from your G.P.
Concessions are also available in specific circumstances. These
would need to be discussed with the individual practioner.
